Amalfi Lemon Misu' - Reviving My Amalfi Fantasies

This is a beautiful dessert that takes me back to one of my favorite cities in Italy — Amalfi. I fell in love with this city when I first visited, and have been dreaming of going back ever since.

I'll never be able to forget my time in Amalfi on the Amalfi coast. That was the ideal combination of all the things that made life enjoyable, from the beautiful vistas and fresh air to the wonderful people who went above and beyond to ensure that we were always made to feel at home in each new location that we lived in. lemon trees line every street, adding their scent to everything.

Every meal we ate was unique and largely irreplicable outside the region. The fish was fresh, the vegetables were flavorful, and the desserts were lemony. If given the chance, I would visit Amalfi again in a heartbeat!

In multiple ways, this recipe brings me back to Amalfi. This recipe contains so much love and lemon in it that my kitchen smells like the sweet Amalfi gardens and tiramisulab welcomes visitors with a fresh burst of air loaded with rich citrus fragrance.

What Is An Amalfi Lemon?

Citus limon, a typical lemon cultivar from the Italian Amalfi Coast, is known as "Amalfi Coast lemons." This type was originally developed by crossing small, indigenous lemons with bitter oranges. In Italian, they are also known as Sfusato Amalfitano.

What Is Special About Amalfi Lemons?

As we all know that lemons are a good source of vitamin C, but the Sfusato d'Amalfi gives up at least 25% of its volume in juice and has more vitamin C than most lemons.

A study by the University of Salerno's Department of Chemical & Food Engineering found that the Amalfi Coast lemon peel has greater aromatic potency and a high number of oil glands.

As "free radicals" are involved in the progression of many diseases, including cancer, heart disease, and cataract development, vitamin C serves a crucial function as an antioxidant and helps protect the body from cell damage. This boosts the immune system and aids in the battle against colds, the flu, gastritis, and intestinal disorders, among other diseases.

As with the majority of other citrus fruits, it contains a vast variety of additional necessary elements, including carbohydrates (sugars and fibers), potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, calcium, and even copper.

Phytochemical substances, particularly the peel or rind, offer added antioxidant and detoxifying properties, making lemons, if consumed frequently, a significant component of a diet that helps prevent disease.

Lemon juice was also once utilized in the manufacturing of pearls, as well as for smoothing the hands, strengthening the nails, and maintaining clean, clear skin.
